A Shichida Success Story

Julia Rozenkova began attending Shichida classes at the age of three and developed exceptional memory skills, strong concentration, and a lifelong love of learning.

With consistent practice, Julia demonstrated exceptional memory ability, memorising up to 1000 items in sequence using flashcards and recite 200 decimal places of Pi. These achievements highlight the remarkable memory potential that can be developed through early whole brain training.

Julia also developed advanced academic skills at an early age. During kindergarten she was already reading at a Year 1 to Year 2 level, and she even wrote her own book to read to her classmates. She developed strong early numeracy skills and could confidently count to 200 in multiples of 2, 5 and 10, as well as perform addition and subtraction.

Through Shichida lessons, Julia developed more than advanced abilities. She developed the habit of learning, which became the foundation for her success.

From an early age, Julia learned to:

  • Focus on the teacher
  • Listen carefully
  • Follow instructions
  • Participate actively

These habits helped Julia excel not only academically but also in other activities.

In ballet lessons, teachers consistently noticed Julia’s ability to remember choreography accurately, often better than many children her age. Her strong listening skills and concentration allowed her to learn quickly and perform with confidence.

Julia’s memory ability amazed both teachers and parents and attracted international attention.

With practice, Julia could memorise hundreds of items in a single session, demonstrating advanced visual memory skills developed through consistent training.

Outstanding Musical Achievements

Julia began piano lessons at the age of three and has since developed into an accomplished young musician.

She has won numerous local and international competitions.

At the age of seven, Julia was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, an outstanding milestone in her early musical journey.

Julia has also completed all of her AMEB examinations, achieving the prestigious Licentiate Diploma in Music (LMusA) for Piano as well as completing her Musicianship theory exam. She chose Musicianship because it suited her strong ear and perfect pitch.

Before her LMusA examination, Julia performed a full recital program at St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne.

Julia was also selected to perform in a Lunar New Year concert at Melbourne’s Steinway Galleries, performing in a chamber ensemble.

School Achievements and Musical Leadership

Julia continues to excel academically and musically at school. She regularly receives Academic Excellence Awards and recently received The Buxton Music Award, which is presented to one outstanding music student in the school. Julia was the first Year 9 student to receive this award, as previous recipients were typically from senior year levels.

She performs actively in multiple bands and orchestras, accompanies choirs, and regularly performs as a soloist as well as in chamber ensembles.

In a recent school production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Julia played a major musical role by providing all piano accompaniment and percussion sound effects. She also arranged the music herself from audio recordings and even composed additional music for the production.

Julia also plays trombone with the Ambassadorial Youth Chamber Orchestra and recently performed Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos with the orchestra.

Her chamber ensemble, Soleil Trio, has won first place in several Eisteddfod competitions, including multiple sections in Ringwood and Boroondara.

Recently, Julia also performed at Melbourne’s Steinway Galleries, where she was selected to perform in a Christmas concert together with a cellist.

In addition to competitions and performances, Julia actively shares her music with the community. She has organised and performed in several Christmas concerts at retirement villages, playing piano and accompanying other young musicians.

What makes Julia’s story particularly inspiring is not only the scale of her achievements, but the natural way they unfolded.

Her abilities were not the result of pressure, but of steady exposure to structured activities that challenged and engaged her mind. Over time, her brain became skilled at capturing details quickly and organising information efficiently. This strengthened her confidence and independence in learning.

Whether reading, solving problems, or practising music, she approached each task with focus and enthusiasm. These habits, formed in the early years, became the quiet engine behind her continued growth and performance excellence.

Continuing Her Journey

Julia continues to expand her interests and talents. She plans to attend a chamber music course at the University of Melbourne and a Debaters Camp with the Debating Association Victoria.

Currently doing year 10, Julia has already begun accelerated Year 11 VCE subjects in Mathematical Methods and Music Performance.

Lifelong Benefits of Shichida

Julia graduated from the Shichida program six years ago, yet the habits developed during her early childhood continue to shape her success today.

Her story shows that Shichida education does more than develop advanced abilities in early childhood. It builds the essential foundations for lifelong learning:

  • strong concentration
  • excellent memory
  • discipline and listening skills
  • confidence to perform and express ideas

Julia’s journey shows that Shichida does not just develop early ability. It builds the focus, discipline, and learning habits that continue to drive success for years to come.
