What Happens in a Shichida Class

Shichida classes are carefully structured and filled with interactive activities designed to support your child’s development while keeping learning joyful and engaging.

Lessons are designed to strengthen important learning skills such as memory, concentration, problem-solving, and confidence – all while nurturing a genuine love of learning.

Classes are fast-paced and engaging, covering approximately 20-25 activities in each 50-minute session. Lesson content and activity emphasis vary depending on age group and developmental stage.

What is the Shichida Method?

The Shichida Method is a research-tested whole-brain training program for children aged 6 months to 9 years old, leveraging the “Golden Period” of development. It uses fun, fast-paced, multisensory activities to nurture both IQ and EQ, building memory, literacy, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Class Breakdown by Age

A Typical Shichida Class Includes

  • Students love starting each class by singing and waving along to the popular ‘Hello Song’.
  • Your teacher will discuss the date and weather, allowing students the opportunity to share their weather observations.
  • Intuition or “guessing” games help develop resilience, decision making and self-confidence.
  • Creativity is encouraged throughout the entire session, through songs, play, drawing and a variety of activities.
  • Relaxation breathing and visualisation, coupled with imaginary play subsequently helps the students to focus.
  • Play-based games that not only enhance working memory but also enhance resilience.
  • Critical-thinking activities pose a healthy, age-appropriate challenge to the children.
  • Phonics, reading and writing are also practiced through engaging, hands-on language activities.
  • Mathematics activities include numeracy songs and interactive play that will result in a love of numbers.
  • Educational songs are paired with flashcards in order to cover a wide range of interesting and contemporary topics.
  • Fine motor skills and dexterity are developed through games, mazes, drawing songs and writing.
  • Class ends with the beloved Goodbye Song’.

Common Questions

Classes run for approximately 50 minutes once a week. The lessons are carefully designed to keep children engaged while developing concentration and learning ability.

Yes. Shichida lessons are designed as parent-child classes, especially for younger children. Parents participate in the activities and learn techniques they can also apply at home to support their child’s development.

Many parents notice improvements in concentration, memory, listening skills and confidence, which are important foundations for later academic learning. These early skills help children transition more smoothly into preschool and primary school environments where focus, curiosity and independence are essential.

Over the years, many Shichida students have continued to thrive academically as they grow. Some have gained admission to selective schools, received academic awards, or achieved outstanding results in areas such as music, writing and science. You can read some of these inspiring journeys on our Shichida Graduate Achievements page.

While every child’s journey is unique, the strong foundations developed during early childhood can support children as they grow into confident and capable learners.
